of M.G.O.C.S.M
of India. Mar
Gregorious
Orthodox
Christian
Student Movement
of India is the
student wing of
the Malankara
Orthodox Syrian
church.
M.G.O.C.S.M is
the oldest
student
organization in
India. Motto of
M.G.O.C.S.M is
worship, study
and service.
With a view to
satisfying the
spiritual needs
of the students
who are studying
outside Kerala,
M.G.O.C.S.M
started its
centers in
different cities
outside Kerala;
one among them
is in
Coimbatore.
M.G.O.C.S.M
Coimbatore
region was
official
inaugurated and
started its work
with the
appointment of
Rev. Fr. Thambi
Vargehese as the
Student Chaplain
and Vice
President of
Coimbatore
region on 1st
August 2005.
Before that Rev.
Fr. Saji worked
among the
students for
their spiritual
up liftmen, his
works are
commendable.
Presently
M.G.O.C.S.M
Coimbatore
region has 40
sub units, under
which lot of
dedicated
students works
for the Kingdom
of God. Support
of the priest’s
who are in
charge of
different
churches of
Coimbatore
region is
praiseworthy.
Following are
the important
services of
Coimbatore
region.
One Day Conference:
M.G.O.C.S.M
Coimbatore
region conducts
one day
conferences at
different
centers. Eminent
personalities
lead different
sessions on
various topics
viz.
personality,
spirituality,
morality,
counseling etc.
M.G.O.C.S.M
Coimbatore
region choir
leads music
sessions. Lot of
students from
various colleges
participates,
the meeting is
held from
morning 7.30am
to 4pm evening.
Unit Meeting:
There are
regular unit
meetings in
different units
once in a week.
Songs, prayers
and study
classes are the
regular pattern
of the unit
meeting.
Counseling:
Personal
counseling is giving those students who are in
need.
Magazine:
“The Way” is a
magazine
publishing under
the leadership
of M.G.O.C.S.M
Coimbatore
region with a
view to enrich
the spiritual
and moral life
of the students.
Articles on
faith, Bible,
Church, secular
education,
psychology,
morality etc.
are included as
the contents of
‘The Way’.
M.G.O.C.S.M Choir:
A group of
talented and
trained students
leads musical
sessions in
different
conferences and
worships.
Campus Ministry Forum:
A group of
dedicated
students and
senior leaders
works among the
students for the
up liftmen of
the students.
Sunday Service:
Celebration of
Holy Qurbana is
held on
alternative
Sundays for
students at
student’s chapel
at Ganapathi.
Morning prayers
start at 6.30a.m
and Holy Qurbana
at 7a.m. Also
there are
regular morning
services on

Thomas Chapel (K.K Pudur), St.
Gregorios Church
(Mettupalayam),
